Assignment – Parts III & IV Final Project

Parts 3 & 4 ask you to pull together the information from modules 2 & 3. Your activities in these modules should have helped you develop some idea of the structure of your training. Provided below is a template of the session notes that Networks’ staff use in planning out their training. Below are some helpful resources you may use to outline your training design. Use one of these, or perhaps you already use something that works for you. That is fine. Included below is a sample of one of Networks’ Session Notes (from Trainers’ Bootcamp – the face-to-face edition). This training has been adapted frequently over the years.

For Parts III and IV you should take care to include:

  • The title of your training and target audience (Part I of your final project submitted at the end of the Pre-Course module)
  • The description you will use to advertise or notify staff of the content
  • The logistics, objectives, and takeaways for your training (Part II of your final project submitted at the end of Module 1)
  • Facilitators’ Agenda

For the Networks’ Template Advertising and Giveaways are optional elements. They appear because they were relevant for the training represented in the Sample. Whatever format you choose to use, your facilitators’ agenda should include:

  • The principle being taught
  • The activities / methods you will use – remember the principles of learning retention, learning styles, and levels of interaction when selecting your activities / teaching methods
  • Timing of activities / teaching
  • Accessibility concerns – your plans for addressing them
  • Who is responsible for various components (if you are team-teaching)

Refer to the Networks’ Session Notes Design Template and the Sample Session Notes if you are unsure of what the various elements are.
