How to Handle Job Loss
- Job loss is often unpredictable and can be devastating to the person. Support them appropriately through the experience of job loss.
- Develop a close relationship with management to ensure employment during difficult times.
- When loss happens, support the person in the emotional aspects of job loss.
- Work with the person in developing a plan of action to find new employment.
- If the person has a team supporting them, involve them in the loss and new employment process.
- Inform funding sources of job status changes.
